Knee Deep Wines are located in the heart of Margaret River’s premium wine-growing area and was established from farmlands by Phil Childs in 2000. ‘Knee Deep’ refers to several factors. Firstly, it reflects a passionate commitment to the premium winemaking process. Secondly, it refers, tongue-in-cheek, to the fact that the winery was established at a time when there was a glut of grapes and is a wry smile to the testing conditions in which it was born. The name also refers to the laid back Margaret River state of mind in which visitors often find it too easy to immerse themselves.
The Knee Deep vineyard is situated on 34 hectares of premium wine producing land with 20.46 hectares (50.53 acres) currently under vine.
